Project Hygiene Kit: SUCCESS! Thank You for All the Love!

12/08/2013

Three weeks after the launch of our Project Hygiene Kit and we have finally turned over 1115 hygiene kits and other donated hygiene products to Ateneo de Davao University for distribution to the Typhoon Yolanda survivors in the Visayas Area.

At first, we thought it wasn't feasible- that we would not be able to reach the goal of producing 1000 kits within the target date of December 07. But day after day, me and my supportive team at Bloggers for Relief PH were getting overwhelmed with the influx of donations. People known and unknown to us helped us in disseminating about this advocacy through Facebook shares, retweets, IG reposts and most importantly, publishing about this project in their own respective blogs. For the first 24 hours, we were able to collect 150 pledges, and this number almost doubled every day until such time that in a span of 8 days, we were able to reach P100,000 for this project.

Once again, we couldn't THANK YOU enough for responding to our call and need. Thank you very much for your generous donations, for believing in us without hesitations, for not turning your backs on us and for trusting us with your hard-earned money. We know for a fact that there are a lot of other agencies which you can give your donations to, but we are very fortunate that you chose to be with us in this advocacy. We might not know and mention each and every one of you but I hope that this blog post will reach you in any way possible. You are not only a blessing to our team but to the more than a thousand typhoon Yolanda survivors who will be using these hygiene kits. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I will also like to congratulate the team behind Bloggers for Relief PH, first and foremost to Ria Jose for coming up with such a brilliant idea of donating hygiene kits. Thank you very much to #PositivePeeps for your very active involvement in this project. I know we all have our shares of busyness in our individual lives but you made it a point that no matter how busy you were, you still shared your time and effort in campaigning for this and for using your very own connections to contribute to the success of this project. I would also like to thank the members of the Davao Bloggers Society who supported this advocacy in any way they did. All your contributions truly went a long way. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Getting solicitations and donations were a bit hard, but the work didn't just end there. After reaching the financial goal, an even harder task was ahead of us - the packing and assembling of the hygiene kits. I'd like to give a virtual hug of gratitude to the incredible volunteers namely Kezia, Andrew, Atty. Swexie, Naprey, Algene, Jade, Floraine, Mike and Kulay, Anna and her daughter Mikka, Madie, Michelle, Judith, Kim and her daughter, for sparing away one Saturday night to assemble the kits. Thank you to the Dela Serna family for accommodating us in your humble abode to prepare the kits. We didn't let our limited number of volunteers outweighed our desire to help our fellowmen even though this meant sacrificing a night of sound sleep, which I knew, took us almost a week to recover. But hey guys, we did it! You're all awesome! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

If there's one thing I learned in this project, it's about STAYING STRONG. Having been a part of this project helped me forget that I too, was also struggling with my own personal storms in life. I honestly reached a point where I became disappointed and felt like giving up but the mere thought of my struggling countrymen who will benefit from all of these made me push even harder. So to each and every one out there who's fighting a battle, just stay strong.

And most importantly, I would like to thank God for making every bit of this project possible, for always paving the way  to make things happen and to give us the strength to go on. We owe everything to YOU! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND FOR SHOWING THE TYPHOON YOLANDA SURVIVORS ALL YOUR LOVE IN JUST A P100.00 OR $2.5.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS 2014 AHEAD! CHEERS!

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!
