#PleasePrayForThePhilippines

8/08/2012

Sadly, my country is experiencing  a lot right now. The northern part of our country has been struck by a series of typhoons and torrential rains still continue to pour down on most areas in Luzon, leaving a big parcel of land flooded and devastated. Reports from news are heartbreaking - what you all hear are about flooded areas, stranded people, mass evacuation, landslides, casualties and deaths.

I believe that we are quite fortunate enough down here in the South as we don't usually get to experience the same kind of traumatic scenario. Even though we also got our share of heavy downpour during the past few days, I am still very grateful that I don't have to go through waist-deep floodwater or stay on top of the rooftop. However, I was also once a flood victim myself (we stayed on the rooftop, too) and I couldn't help but relate to this people in dire need. In as much as I want to extend a helping hand to my ailing fellowmen, I am miles away from the Metro plus I don't have enough funds to bring me there to physically render service, but I do hope that this post could help sending out a message and information on any means that you can help the Philippines.

Above all these, our country need PRAYERS. It's the least but the best thing that we can offer to our fellowmen. Together, hand in hand, I believe our country shall survive.

    1. I'm from Davao City and I'm grateful that we only have scattered rain showers. Though I experienced having been flooded last year, I just do hope it won't happen again. I'm positive since I've seen our city government's efforts to improve the drainage system in our city and it has been the focus for improvement after the said tragedy. I'm praying my heart out to our countrymen in Luzon.
