A Drop of Red

9/03/2012

Hey there! How's your weekend?

Just sharing to you what I wore on a weekend of errands and relaxation.

Top: Department Store
Black Tights: SM Department Store
Flats: Solemate
Bag: Longchamp

I usually don't go by any styling rule when it comes to dressing up even though I attempted to follow any. For this outfit, my major consideration was actually the weather. It was starting to rain outside when I decided to be productive and run some errands plus the BF scheduled a movie date night. I needed to wear something that could counteract the cold weather and the cool temperature inside the cinema. Since it was already raining, I skipped the jeans as they tend to be very heavy and uncomfortable when wet. I also opted not to wear shorts because one of my tasks for the day is to retrieve some documents from my Alma Mater which happens to be very strict in dress codes even in visitors. Therefore, wearing tights was the first thing that popped out of my mind. I paired my black tights with a long top to cover the crotch as I tend to be ashamed in exposing it or getting too much attention to it. This was actually the first time that I wear this top after buying it 2010. I totally forgot having it in my closet, and glad that I found it again - seems like a perfect timing!

I don't want to end up with a monochromatic outfit so I decided to put a drop of red in it by matching it up with a pair of red earrings, a red belt and a red bag. Having a drop of red deviates me from looking more like I'm going to a funeral. Coincidentally, the BF was also wearing red that day, so the drop of red match up our outfits like a match made in heaven. Pardon the cheesiness!

How about you? Do you go by any fashion rule? Share your thoughts!
