Kadayawan Art Exhibit at Marco Polo Davao

Slated to be as one the biggest and most-awaited festivals in the Philippines, the
Kadayawan Festival is observed annually in Davao City during the month of
August as the ten tribes converge as one in celebration of life, culture, and
thanksgiving for the city’s bountiful harvest.
In
celebration of the Kadayawan Festival this year, Marco Polo Davao kicked off its
festivities with the launching of the Kadayawan 2015 Art Exhibit last August
10, 2015 at the hotel lobby. The Kadayawan Art Exhibit proudly showcases the wide-ranging
richness of Davao’s culture and heritage as expressed in fashion, design and
photography and is on display until September 05, 2015.

Faculty and students from the Philippine Women’s College of Davao Fashion Design Program presented their ingenuity and brilliant use of indigenous materials through a fashion show which featured outfits and accessories made out of textiles and materials locally found and manufactured in Davao City.
Feast your
eyes on the beauty of Davao with the marvelous photos that best captured the
stunning splendor of the city, the abundant natural resources, the
mouth-watering delicacies and the way of life that are distinctly Davao. Photos are taken by the members of the Camera
Club of Davao, the city’s most prestigious photography club for over 30 years,
and printed by Colours Digital Foto.
Beautiful
handcrafted and hand-woven products from Crystal Seas are also on display at
the Kadayawan Art Exhibit. This brand also makes use of locally-available
textiles and materials in creating their unique bags and accessories.
