New In: Fresh from LA

2/19/2014

They say money can't buy happiness but it can buy make-up which is just the same thing. And this kind of happiness is already enough to last for a year. So dear world, say hello to my new babies!

To some, this may be a luxury but for someone like me who spent so many years in discovering one make-up brand that suits my very sensitive skin, this has become a necessity. Considering its cost, I definitely fend off buying online to elude from counterfeits as the slightest impurities can again trigger something I can't afford to have. So, when my new PAL told me that he will be going to Los Angeles for work, it took me a while to ask him if he could try buying some makeup products for me. I know I have to muster a thick face for asking such favor from a new friend, but I guess some people are just naturally gifted with kindness to give in to requests without hesitations.

Mac Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling

I only had two requests: the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC30 and the MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Ultra Darling. The latter is like a pot of gold to me - it's the perfect My Lips But Better (MLBB) shade for me - but unfortunately, I wasn't able to score it despite numerous attempts of purchasing it since it's not always available in MAC outlets in Manila and Cebu. But as I've said, I would never ever resort to buying from online shops in different social media networks no matter how tempting they appeared to be.

To be honest, I didn't really raise my hopes too high on finally getting my hands on these products considering that 1.) he has made plans already for his short stay in LA and that looking for these may surely take time or ruin his plans, 2.) the lipstick is really hard to find and 3.) he is a male, and I had that belief that some males won't even come close to a make-up store. Monday morning came and the first thing he greeted me upon arrival in Manila was to inform me that he was able to buy both of the products I asked him to.

WOOOW! I actually couldn't believe at first but then I felt ecstatic that I just couldn't contain my happiness. Yes, simple things like these can truly make me really happy like a kid finding a pot of gold.

Forgive me for underestimating his capability but I would really like to extend a million thanks to PAL for mustering the time, energy and confidence to do such act of kindness. And thanks as well for the Japanese dinner he treated me when he handed me these items. It was already too much but I am forever grateful. Thanks a lot!

It's going to be my treat next time.

PS: Product reviews are coming soon so stay tuned.
